Installation:
Installation of this cooler has been made even better. Artic Cooling made the wise decision to go the stock mount method. What I mean by this is they used the AMD stock cooler motherboard harnesses rather then redesigning a pressure bar or pressure plate with screws and extras. The advantage of this is anyone that buys an AMD 64 but motherboard will be able to mount this cooler and one better it will be the same procedure as the stock unit. The hard part is getting the pressure bar over the mounts then just flips over the fastener and plug in the power connection to your motherboard and that’s it. It’s as easy as one, two, three. I real can’t stress how much I like this change installation is always my aggravation and there is no worries as to oh did I tighten the cooler too much or too little. Or am I going to damage my CPU. With the method AC uses now it is very easy and very reliable.
Appearance: Artic Cooling did a great job with the revamp of this cooler the Pro version is a little shorter making it much easier to fit in the case. Plus by the looks of things Artic Cooling made the fan a bit more powerful at least it looks stronger we will see in the performance test just how well it stands up against the prior Freeze 64. The basic appeal or style of this cooler really didn’t change so for esthetics. If you liked the original you will like this one. The cooler is very modern very simple, easy to mesh with almost any schema.
