CES Las Vegas 2005 XGbox

XGbox

Another company that I was very familiar
with before the expo, had a nice booth at the CES show this year.
MGE, a parent company created a gamer / modding PC
equipment division XGbox.com. MGE Company has been making extreme gaming cases
and high end
modding
supplies for a while now. Founded in 1990,
MGE
Company
made the subdivision to target the new PC trends. I had the pleasure of
viewing in person a few of their newer products. Their products range
from PC cases to Speaker systems. Their case lines have two focuses:
clean and sleek as well as modded to the hilt. XG makes products to fit
every individual's lifestyle. Their Quantum line have all the bells and
whistles including internal fan and temp controls built in, so no need
for the 5 1/4 drive bay control units. Also, the Quantum has XG's
advanced cooling system to help keep your CPU and internal
components working optimally and at the same time the look of this case
is clean and mean. On the flip side you have the Viper line, which
is more like your gamer enthusiast machine. Designed for the gamer that
might not be into modding but still wants the case
window
and unique style that makes their friends say "wow!" XG also has a
line of power supply units ranging from the LED fan light to the
aluminum chassis 600watt monsters. Their latest line of LED fan
power supplies the "Vortec" are similar to the existing "Vigor" but with
new features making them even better. The Vortec like its
predecessor has adjustable fan controls that allow the consumer to
reduce the noise level of the fans when heat is less of an issue. Also,
new to the Vortec XG uses an all aluminum chassis to help dissipate heat
more efficiently. The new line is now BTX and ATX
compatible
so if you are interested in getting a product compatible with not only
your existing hardware but ready for future motherboards the Vortec will
fit the bill. This new line comes in 500 & 600 watt assuring the
unit will fits any power usage needs.
I have personally tested some
of their Power supplies and if the other products XG provides are anything like the unit we tested here at Marns CDA, then chances are the
product will make the consumer happy and satisfy their needs. I had the opportunity to see the quality craftsmanship
that you can't appreciate from a photo. There is a huge difference in
the assessment of product quality when you
can actually pick up a product in your own hands and realizing the
difference between a lesser quality unit or case. XG has just
those type of products, the panels are sturdy and the components are
solid. Well, at least the ones I saw at the show. This month XG released
their latest line of cases, the "X-Case." This case is clean and
at the same time extreme case, combining the standard modding look with
a clean feel. They use a tool less techniques to their drive bays and
have LED's and a design that is visually appealing as well. The
front case lights have patterns to display a few different styles as
well as a window shaped in an X shape to show off what components are
inside. Whether you want a clean feel or the super modder with all
the lights and shapes, XG has a variety of equipment to choose
from. I can't wait to see XG's next creation, the Dragon, due in
March 2005... For more information on any of these products check
out XG's website @ www.xgbox.com.
