GigaByte K8 Triton Socket 754 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-K8U 02/20/06
Installation: This type of installation is nothing new it your standard motherboard install. Place the CPU in the socket. Place the memory in their socket. Hook up your Case wiring and drive cables and last place the Video card in its slot. The hardware install was pretty stock. Software on the other hand I was rather impressed with the CD provided the drivers and installation went smother then normal only 2 reboots and it was all done. Now the reason I thought it was easier is because more then once I have had to manually add component via the Device manager in the System menu of the PC and this install was so fluent and well done I took notice. Not to mention there were no BIOs changes required to get the hardware configured. Everything was very plug and play making for a less stressful install.
Appearance:
What can be said about the appearance of a motherboard.. Well Gigabyte
does use allot of color that helps with the overall installation as long
as you are not colored blind. Not to mention the colors add to the
appeal of a board. Gigabyte uses it's standard blue green board so
nothing to fancy. This board is more then satisfactory appetence wise
and the packaging is pretty cool as well. Seeing this is the first
Gigabyte motherboard we have reviewed I am not sure what the norm is but
this board gets a thumbs up from us.
