Albatron K8SLI ATX motherboard

Part One

 (Page 4 Quality & Conclusion)

08/05/05

Quality:

Quality will be more apparent over time but at this point I am very impressed with the thought and engineering put behind the layout of the K8SLI motherboard. Not to mention the extras Albatron put in just to make the install easier like colored plastics and so on. The packaging is what I expected everything packed with care and the box is pretty much stock. There is a very low chance of any damage with normal shipping wear and tare.

Pros:

Size makes this an easy fit in any ATX case.
Installation Documentation and color coordinated components makes for a quick install.
Price is great
Performs satisfactory with base solution. (No SLI)

Cons:

Not a lot.

Possible issue if large CPU Air cooling devices.

Conclusion:

If you are looking for a moderately priced SLI motherboard that performs well, then this might be just the product you are looking for.  Albatrons K8SLI is not the best performing stock PCI-e motherboard on the market however it is one of the least expensive and when comparing it to a Ultra board of the same chipset  ALbatron does hold their own making it a sound investment.. Not to mention the size of this product makes the K8SLI compatible with more case sizes, eliminating allot of space issues.  Make sure you keep a look out for the second part of this review where we push the SLI capability and see if the K8SLI really is a superb solution.  At this point we give ALbatron our "Blue Ribbon Seal of Approval" Congratulation ALbatron this is a great product..
