   What our main goal in this test is to show what types of performance differences you can expect to gain from the newer 64 bit systems, and to help when trying to decide if it is cost effective to go from a K7 AMD 2500+ chip set to a K8 64bit 3200+ AMD chipset. Now we decided to run this test with the two most used configurations we also tried to keep all the components as closely matched as possible. The only real difference other then motherboards and CPU' s are the hard drives. So when looking at the hard drive performance test it is not a bad idea to remember that one is a Maxtor the other is a Western Digital so keep this in mind and don't use the hard drive numbers for chipset comparisons.. We use Future Marks software for this comparison the PCMark04 line that tests the over all system and individual components. Hope you find the data you are looking for...
