Installation:

Installation is pretty simple there are two sections the lower or PC part and the headset itself that hooks into the volume control.. This design is explicitly for a PC enthusiast that needs a quick way to connect and disconnect when at a LAN party or just sitting at home. The microphone has a separate plug and work just like any other standard PC mic.

Also note the secondary mic wire harnesses to keep your mic wire connected to the headset this will reduce tangles and knots caused by multiple wires they just snap into place securing the two wire together in multiple places.. Great Idea in my book..

IceMat does provide a PC mount for the mic itself but it is pretty much just a l shaped piece of plastic with some adhesive tape to mount to your case o monitor. Instructions are provided for this installation...

Appearance:

The overall appearance of the IceMat Siberia is very clean and professional. I was even more impressed with the hammock design for supporting the headset on your head. Why I call it a hammock design is as you can see from the pictures below the head set uses a dual wire system that is spring loaded with a soft leather/foam support rest for your head.. I let a few people try this head set out and the first thing everyone noticed is how light and comfortable the headset feels for such a large design…

Performance:

Performance is pretty tuff to explain or demonstrate with a sound device strictly due to the inability for anyone to hear the product. So what I am going to do is tell you my opinion on the quality and elaborate on credible things I noted on this product.. I admittedly am not a headset enthusiast and that is why I had other folks try them out to get an over all contentious on the sound quality and out of 10 people 8 said they would consider buying them even with the 79.99 price tag the other two where not avid sound buffs so they wouldn’t buy any headset in this price range.. But all  of the people I had try the product did say that the sound was exceptional and that they thought the ear design was a great idea to allow outside sounds be heard when the headset is worn as well as protection from over loading your eardrum as is common with the lesser expensive head sets… Another nice feature I almost forgot to mention is the mute or on/off switch for the mic this is a great idea for them times that the phone rings and you don't want you conversation to be transmitted to your entire team or anytime you just want the mic muted. it works well and is a definite plus.

Quality:

Quality and craftsmanship of this product was just as impressive as the overall look. All the materials involved seemed light and strong. This would be very important to any person that will require hours of uses in on sitting for example at a LAN party or a late night raid….. The packaging was superb as well. Everything was very securely mounted into a plastic core to prevent shipping damage. Please note that all items are shipped extraordinarily fast from the home base of Denmark. I received my set within 48 hrs of shipment. And considering it came from Denmark to New York that pretty amazing..

Pros:

Very comfortable you forget they are on.

Easy to hear outside noises with moderate volumes

Easy installation

Wire management is very nice.

Mic mute is a plus.

Cons:

PC mic mount is a bit flimsy.

Conclusion:

Overall this headset is a great product and anyone willing to pay for quality sound will be very interested. All the extras and comfort built into this design makes it by far a step above many of its competitors.. I am pleased to give IceMat's Siberia head set our "Editors Choice Trophy of Excellence" for a very fine product....
