CrazyPC.com has graciously donated this Cold Cathode Fan kit by Logisys. This is the first CCFL fan we have reviewed. I have never used one before but so far it looks pretty cool. This fan light combo is a great way to not only cool off your system but it lights up your case.
The Price at CrazyPC.com is $11.95
This seems very reasonable considering it is a 80mm Fan and it light up you case.

Round CCFL spec:
If you have ever installed a light or a fan before then you know it's pretty standard. There are 2 electrical systems on this due to the fact that there is a light and a fan.
The CCFL has an on/off switch for the light that has a rear case mount for an IO card port. all you need to do for installation is take the plugs and insert them where they belong look at pics bellow for a better idea.
As for the fan its pretty standard. You can connnect the fan Molex to connector to the power supply Molex connector, or you can use the 3 pin Motherboard fan hookup. Its especially nice when using this as a heat sink fan.....
One nice thing about the light is you can remove it and place it whereever so the CCFL is very flexible. It's good for lighting up your heat sink fan or window blowhole. All sorts of combinations can be thought up.
The CCFL fan kit has a cool look. The red glow shows off the insides of the PC pretty well. The kit comes in a few different colors so its easy to get one to match whatever theme you chose.
There is not to much noise coming from the CCFL fan which is good because there's nothing worse then a noisy fan. The lighting is exceptional. The glow is very powerful and the luminescence shows off nicely.
The fan did exceptional. It performed above specs. Topping out at around 2939 and low 2898 RPM.
Packaging is your standard hardened plastic one piece fold over. Nothing movable inside the package reducing any risk of damage during shipment.
The fan light combo itself seems well made. The fan is a bearing/sleeve type so it should hold up for a good period of time. The light is pretty bright, it gives off a nice glow.
Documentation is somewhat lacking. The only installation documentation is a small write-up on the back of the packaging insert. Not that most people need a ton of pictures and instructions for fans or lights but they could expand on that a bit.
All in all quality seem satisfactory.
Very easy to install.
Well made fan, performs better then specified.
The light is very bright, it lights up the case nicely.
The On/Off switch is a good feature, especially if you don't need to show off your lights all the time.
Installation documentation could have been a bit more in depth but not to big an issue.
Good job Logisys on a product well made. This fan serves its purpose well. It is a nice dual purpose fan light combo to spice up any moders project.
The Red CCFL Fan kit provided by CrazyPC.com receives a Marns CDA Blue Ribbon Seal of approval for getting 5 & 1/2 out of 6 stars Just missing the highest award given to a PC product by Marns CDA.
