ZEROTherm BTF80 CPU Cooler
11/31/06
This is our first experience with ZEROTherm and so far it has been good.
We had the pleasure of looking at ZEROTherm new CPU cooler that looks
like a bug the " ". The version sent to us was the Aluminum fin model
and before we get into anything else it is important to know they do
make a copper fin version as well. This unit is a standard heat pipe
designed to draw heat from the CPU up the heat pipes and disappears the
heat along the surface of the fins. First thing you will notice on this
the particular model is that from the top it appears to be a bug the
fills are the wings and body. I don't think the design will come into
play when looking at performance but its cool none the less. The shape
reminds me of Titans Vanessa cooler that being said lets take a closer
look into ZEROTherm's newest product by reviewing the installation
procedure performance appearance and overall Pro's and Con's.

Installation / Usage: The first phase of this review delves into just how the installation procedure is. We are going to look at speed and ease of procedure. The actual documentation and so on. Lets start with our step by step.
Appearance: Appearance of this cooler is a bit different the LED fan is by far one of my favorite parts about the product. I am not into bugs but for folks building PC's for there children or for the supper butterfly nut this would be cool. Or like in my case you build a unit for your little lady and she thinks the cooler is so cute. Anyway overall visual appearance of this cooler definitely meets our standards. Might be cool if it came in other colors like blue, green or yellow might help when selling these units.
Quality:
Well I have been running this cooler using several 775 Intel CPU's and a 939 X2 4400 Dual core and to be honest this thing rock. The construction and removable fan are near perfect for any case. Quality design makes this cooler by far one of the most reliable I have used in the test equipment.
Over View (Pros & Cons):
Pros: Removable fan makes for easers access on install Compatible with most chipsets. Easy to install Great instructions Performs well
Cons: It looks like a bug... )
Conclusion: The only negative thing I really have about this cooler is the bug shape. This make for a hard sell at times with the large number of choices that don't look like butterflies. Other then that this cooler rocks. It can easily cool most CPU's without extra cooling. When all is said and done it is very reliable and quite The ZeroTHerm cooler gets our seal of approval. 5 out of 6 stars.. Well done.
