UV Reactive PSU Cover w/ 92mm Fan Mount
The guys at FrozenCPU.com have a huge amount of modder supplies. The one we will be looking at today is the UV Reactive PSU cover. I will be covering a Antec 400SL. PLEASE NOTE THIS MOD WILL VOID MOST FACTORY WARRANTIES YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWEN RISK. Price: price: $10.00 10 dollars is a very fair price for an acrylic cover with a blow hole Procedure: Installation is pretty simple just take off old cover to PSU and using 2 sided adhesive strips provided with the cover its a snap. For detailed look at what goes into installation Click HERE.. I suggest getting the fan grommets and long fan screws that Frozen sells they make the fan and fan grill installation a breeze.
The only thing I had a problem with is the fact that because you are using 2 sided adhesive strips for installation removal of the cover will most likely be messy.. To be honest, you mod it once, then you are done so its not to big a deal. Product: I chose the Green UV reactive model for my PSU but there are many more colors and different size fan holes 90mm, 82mm, no hole...
Here is a quote from FrozenCPU.com's website on what you get with the product. "These covers are made of 1/8 thick cast acrylic. The
inside dimensions are 2 15/16 tall x 5 13/16 wide x 5 9/16 deep. The cover
attaches with double sided black foam tape. The reason for this is that
fan holes are not the same from one manufacturer to another. The foam tape
works extremely well and will not fall off. Includes 6 inch black zip tie
to secure strain relief. This mod will increase the outside dimensions of
your PSU 1/8 in height and 1/4 in width so make sure you have enough room."
Appearance: After all is said and done the cover looks very nice. I really liked the look
Quality: I didn't see any flaws or scratches in the product and the colors where very vibrant, so quality gets a thumbs up.
Pros: Made out of good material. Price is definitely right. Installation is a snap. Cons: Only con I can see would be removing the cover due to adhesive strips, but once its modded its done you shouldn't be trying to open the PSU after. Conclusion: Over all product was a more then satisfactory And I would definitely recommend the PSU covers from FrozenCPU.com to anyone looking for a quick flashy mod
