Work Bench
Work Log Page 1
The Frame
What I decided to do is make a wall mounted work bench for all my modding and benchmark work. The key factors in making a workbench like this is to make it light and strong. In order to do this I used a cross member rather then strait braces to reduce frame weight. The cross brace also made side to side strength increase as well. Also as you can see from the photos I used multiple metal L brackets and joiners to add a little extra strength.. The wall mount is very impotent I used 4 45degree triangle frames and secured them to the wall using lag bolts. Making sure all lags go into the 2x4 studs in the wall.
These photos show all the brackets and the lag bolts. I used four L brackets' 6 joiner brackets and 10 Lag bolts.
This next set of photos show the cross brace and the wall mount triangle frame. After all the frame was complete to test the strength I sat on top seeing I weight over 270lb I figured that would be a good test lol.
Last the Plywood is put on this is the easy part just make sure to use thick enough plywood to make the bench solid. I uses 3/4 inch sanded one side play in to section.
